Working as a Door Supervisor | Private Security | Vanquish Services

Door Supervision Training

Door Supervisors work on licensed premises (licensed to sell alcohol). Door Supervisors take action to protect people, property, report improper movements, injuries and illegal activities, enforcing the right preventative measures whilst maintaining a high-visibility presence to deter inappropriate actions from those sometimes under the influence of alcohol and other substances.

On our SIA Door Supervisor training course, you will learn the importance of assessing situations in real time whilst using rational thinking under pressure and the importance of stopping potential situations at the door of your venue, being proactive rather than reactive.

Who will teach me?

You will be taught by staff who have spent many years from the 1990’s working on the front line in the security industry, employed and building their reputation to the highest level.

We offer accredited qualifications in the security industry to improve and maintain the standard of training in the industry, creating proficient security personnel for your security and the security of others.

Become equipped

You will be armed with specific training for Door Supervisors. There is no better way to grow a career as a Door Supervisor than enrolling in our SIA Door Supervisor training course as it provides the necessary skills and knowledge to become a competent Door Supervisor, gaining vital skills and the ability to understand people and read the environment.

Through our SIA Door Supervision training course, you will be successfully armed with the tools required for Door Supervisors, able to enforce the rights of the property owners on licensed premises, control entrances and exits of premises, take control in emergencies and handle difficult emotive situations practically and safely, physically intervening and escorting people out of venues if and when violence ensues.

There are 4 modules we cover:

  • Working in the Private Security Industry
  • Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry
  • Conflict Management in the Private Security Industry
  • Physical intervention

Conflict Management

Conflict Management is an essential module if you are pursuing a career in the Private Security Industry.

Our SIA Door Supervision training course will teach you to deal with complicated security situations. With proper training in conflict management, a security expert will be equipped to successfully diffuse issues when dealing with uncooperative individuals.

Door Supervisors will learn how to refuse entry to customers, eject customers from a venue with minimum fuss, and spot, manage and approach incidents in a venue before and during escalation.

Physical Intervention

There is more to learn to qualify as an accredited Door Supervisor. In this module you will learn step-by-step techniques to physically intervene in intense situations (you will know whether it is safe to do so by using dynamic risk assessment) and work with other supervisors to de-escalate and control customers who are a danger to themselves or others by physically restraining them using non-pain compliance techniques.

Necessary Sub-Modules That Make Up the Qualification

  • Searching techniques
  • Dynamic risk assessment

Door Supervision is a vital prerequisite for working in the Private Security Industry and will help you understand the importance of assessing situations in real-time. This qualification will allow you to apply for a Security Industry Authority (SIA) license to work in the industry competently.

You will understand the importance of assessing situations in real time, learn to do dynamic risk assessments to reduce the risk to customers, staff and yourself in emotive situations, and understand the importance of stopping potential situations at the door of your venue.
